Calverton Parish Council Annual General meeting will be held on Tuesday, 8 February 2005, at the hour of 6.30pm, at the Council Room, Main Street, Calverton, Notts.

1.             Apologies for absence.

 

2.            Declarations of Interest.

 

3.            To approve as a correct record the Minutes of the Council meeting held on 11 January 2005.

 

4.            Matters arising from Minutes of the meeting held on 11 January 2005.

 

5.            Open Session – Public Participation under Standing Order 43(a).

 

6.             Resolution in the name of Councillor G E Withers:

 

That this Council agrees to rescind all previous Standing Orders and Financial Instructions and to replace them with the attached – previously despatched.

 

7.            Resolution in the name of Councillor G E Withers:

 

That this Council agrees to set the 2005/2006 Precept at the rate calculated (attached).

 

8.             Resolution in the name of Councillor G E Withers:

 

That this Council agrees to use the attached revised Letting Agreements (Village Hall, William Lee Pavilion, and Allotments) with immediate effect.

Resolution in the name of Councillor G E Withers:

That this Council is resolved to ensure that in future all claims made against the Council’s Insurance Policy are properly Recorded and Minuted. (please refer to attached).

 

10.          Resolution in the name of Councillor G E Withers:

 

That as this Council is resolved to continue opposing any development on Dark Lane it is very concerned to note that Gedling Borough Council have apparently decided not to object to the Inspector’s recommendation and therefore urge Gedling Borough Council to reconsider this particular matter.

 

11.         Resolution in the name of Councillor M J Lewis:

 

That this Council approves, “the switching-on of the Christmas tree lights”, will be undertaken on either Thursday, 1st, or Thursday, 8th December 2005.

 

In support of the above, a minimum of two Councillors are to be identified to take responsibility and give regular progress reports to the Council of the ongoing preparations for this event which are to include:

·        Explore possible alternative venues (and associated permission)

·        List of invited guests and organisations     

·        Personality/dignitary to turn on the lights, who is to be confirmed ASAP

·        Provision of a tree

·        Advertising in the local press.

 

It is intended that the final arrangements for this event with any costs will be presented to the Council not later than the June meeting in order that invitations may be sent out before the summer recess.

 

12.          Annual Parish Meeting – to arrange date, time, venue and agenda.
